With great pleasure, we the Organizing Committee of the 7th International Symposium of Cecidology: Ecology and Evolution of Gall-inducing Arthropods invite you to this event, which will be held in the Huisun Experimental Forest Station, Natntou, Taiwan from the 3rd to the 8th of March of 2018.
We are confident that through this effort, we would be creating an exciting opportunity to learn about current advances in research on galls, gall-inducing arthropods, and associated organisms. By organizing this event we perpetuate the spirit, excitement, and legacy of the once-in-four-years international gall symposium, since its first occurrence in Siberia in 1993.
The present symposium will be held in an experimental forest station belonging to the National Chung Hsing University, which occurs in an area that experiences both subtropical-humid and temperate-cool climates and is well known for its refreshing native trees, birds, walking tracks, insects, and of course, a fascinating range of galls. Huisun Forest is well known for its firefly track and one of the earliest coffee plantations in Taiwan. You ought to try a warm cup of coffee in the cool of Huisun Forest – considered the best coffee in Taiwan. By travelling to Taichung in March 2018, we believe that you would be excited to extend your research collaboration with us.
In addition to oral presentations and poster sessions, we also intend to organize an excursion and a workshop during the meeting, and a post-conference tour around the island. We hope to ensure that you not only participate in the exciting academic activities, but also feel the best of Taiwanese culture and cuisine!
Please visit the conference website http://letsgall.tw for detailed information and register soon. We look forward to seeing you in Taiwan in March 2018.
